Why doesn’t Instie have smell? I’ve been

Why doesn't Instie have smell? I've been hunting for that one special red rose to grow in my super crowded garden, with good color and superb fragrance. Found this beauty in a clients garden - they bought it years ago from a market in Daylesford. After some rosarian research I found that the grower has passed away but this special rose lived on. Took a box of cuttings but only one took, these are the flowers, which are a deeper shade of red than this pic shows. I'll be growing plastic sell in the future for those looking for strongly scented petals for the kitchen. The name escapes me at the moment but I have it down somewhere! it's a tall bush that could be trained against a fence.
